La cita de Cartier \"Somos de razas diferentes no para luchar, sino para trabajar juntos por el bienestar com\u00fan\" puede verse en la parte inferior del monolito. Este adem\u00e1s est\u00e1 adornado con figuras neocl\u00e1sicas que llevan vestidos de estilo europeo antiguo y que miran directamente a los espectadores. Debito a las caracter\u00edsticas de estas figuras surge la pregunta de qui\u00e9n est\u00e1 incluido en el concepto de \"bienestar com\u00fan\" de Cartier. Como pieza central del parque Jeanne-Mance, el monumento ha sido durante mucho tiempo lugar de diversas actividades, desde protestas hasta sesiones semanales de tambores. Asimismo, la protuberancia f\u00edsica del imponente monumento se desmembra y se coloca a lo largo del campo. Dichas partes se convierten en plataformas a menor altura, que permiten a cualquier persona actuar, ser celebrado o simplemente existir. Numerosos monumentos y figuras esculpidas de otros sitios pueden unirse a dicha intervenci\u00f3n ubicada en el Monte, dejando a los espectadores la tarea de navegar por el lugar. Common Ground se convierte en un espacio abierto, donde vivimos, actuamos y protestamos mientras miramos a los ojos de nuestros hom\u00f3logos de bronce y
